                                                            Local Mission

The Calvin Local Mission Committee works on behalf of the congregation "to do justice and to love kindness" (Micah 6:8) by ministering to the poor, hungry, homeless, and other disadvantaged groups. To fulfill its purpose, the committee seeks to 1) wisely distribute resources allocated by the Board of Elders to area agencies and ministries; 2) promote and interpret local missions to the larger congregation; and 3) provide hands on opportunities to participate in mission projects.

Highlights of Calvin's local mission include:

The Crop table where Calvin members bring home grown produce and flowers to sell after worship. Proceeds go to local mission projects. Medical Teams International Calvin has a long standing relationship with Operation Shoebox through financial support, materials for shoeboxes, and participation in mission trips to Honduras. Operation Shoebox is a project of Northwest Medical Teams.
