There are 31 passages in the New Testament that describe how Jesus integrated faith and healing.  Calvin has an active Health Ministry that is concerned with these same issues.

As the Parish Nurse, I work with the pastors and the Health Ministry Team to coordinate programs and activities that promote health. 

Here are some examples:

• American Red Cross blood drives
• Health educational topics discussed in the church newsletter
• Health Fairs
• Walking program
• Exercise program
• Provide clothing and equipment for high-risk infants in Washington County
• CPR/AED  classes
• Driver Safety classes
• Baby-sitting certification classes
• Sent stethoscopes to nurses in Iraq
• Contact by phone or visit the pastoral care referrals from the pastors
• Provide health resource information

Calvin is a Stephen Ministry Congregation

Stephen Ministry is a system through which members of
Calvin are trained and organized to help provide Christian
Care to members of our congregation and community.
Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of training to provide
high quality Christian care to individuals experiencing a life
crisis or challenge such as divorce, grief, loss of a job, illness,
